free fat quarter

I've been buying fat quarters because they're bee-yoo-tee-ful but now I feel I need to send a couple out there into the world, as a gift for blog readers. I am also wondering if anyone reads this thing...hmm...SO. Send me a comment and two will be chosen at random next Monday. They will each get a wee package in the mail.

Here I am, in my little village,, wondering "what the heck is a fat quarter"...go up for the mail and there is a basket with fat quarters in it for sale, how wierd is that? Got the full explanation from the store owner/postmistress. Thanks for the offer Ella, but as I am obivously not in the "know"... I do not deserve your generosity. :)
Well, thank you for the shout-out, Jodie! :)
To Anonymous - Of COURSE you deserve a fat quarter! Send me your address -- to "headclamp@gmail.ca" -- and I will be so happy to send you your first one. xo ella

WHAT IS A FAT QUARTER???

SEAFISH
Dear Seafish,
A fat quarter is a quilter's term. It refers to a quarter yard of fabric! But instead of cutting it off the bolt in a strip, the person cutting will cut a yard into four squares. Those "quarters" are a good size to make various little things out of, not just to be used for quilts. So - a fat quarter is a quarter-yard of material. Fabric-crazy people buy them to get a little taste of material -- or to make a doll-dress, or a purse, or a toddler skirt...Hope this helps.
